Forums - Nintendo - How come the 3DS has horrible support and no games coming out for it?

No, I can't agree with this. 3DS has an amazing catalogue. This year is weak, but 3DS is approaching its end. I remember 2013 3DS lineup as one of the best of every console, ever. And even in its weakest year (2014) we had Bravely Default, Super Smash Bros, Conception II, Persona Q, Professor Layton... And this year was a good start with MH4, Majora's Mask, STEAM and Xenoblade Chronicles. The 2nd half looks empty, but 3DS is approaching its end, I think. I find it a better handheld than DS, less quantity but more quality, in general.

Aren't we getting Xenoblade next week? Didn't we get Code Name STEAM last month? And Majora's Mask and Monster Hunter 4 the month before that?

Pretty sure it's been getting support, and quality games to boot.

Those are Nintendo games, and Xenoblade is new3DS exclusive, which is pretty much like having a weak next gen handheld.

So your complaint is third parties not Nintendo? Welcome to Handheld Gaming >_>

The OP doesn't exactly make it clear that you're talking about third parties. In either case, it's still getting games, so you can't exactly say "no games are coming out for it". Also New 3DS is hardly a "next gen handheld", it's a remodeled 3DS with a tad more horsepower, and Monster Hunter 4 is NOT a Nintendo game.

So, new list of games, third party only:

This week we're getting Etrian Mystery Dungeon. Next month we're getting Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker. Last month we got Story of Seasons. Month before that we got Monster Hunter 4.

In no shape or form is the new 3DS a next gen handheld. It is simply the DSi and Game Boy Micro of the 3DS.

Except they have big name exclusives that are exclusive to New3DS, Xenoblade.  That is pretty much a cock slap to every 3DS owner who thought they had a full handheld experience when they paid 300 for it when it launch.  Tsk tsk.

The DSi also had its own exclusives that were not playable on the regular DS. Granted they were all crap titles but they did have some. I brought my 3DS on day one I never looked back. I even knew that this would once again happy, I 100% expected it and thought about it when I brought my 3DS on day one. I am completely satisfied with it and I happen to have tons of great games. I honestly have never even noticed a shortage of 3rd party games and I have quite a few of them. All which are phenomenal!

Also I find that the larger screens on the 3DS XL and XLL as well of the New 3DS don't look nearly as nice resolution wise as the regular 3DS. A lot of people claim they don't see a dip in the quality but I do. I notice the pixilation big time.

To be honest I actually thought you were trolling at first, no offense intended.

We had pretty good amount of games coming out last year. You had Persona Q, Story of Seasons, Bravely Default, Fantasy Life and many more from third parties. Sure, it isn't as great as the DS but it's also not as bad as you make it out to be...

Sorry, the support was pretty bad.  I like Persona and Bravely Default, but 3 RPGs aren't going to fill the drought the system has had since it was released and getting worse by the day.

Well... Those were just some as I have said... It had more than that last year which you can easily google since you do have an internet connection

DS had a lot of support, but most of it was garbageware much like the Wii. The number of quality of titles should be more or less the same between the DS and 3DS.

Its really not.  If you think about it Nintendo release 2 quality racing games on DS, Mario Kart and Diddy Kong, only 1 on 3DS, 2 quality M&L games on DS, only 1 on 3DS, 3 quality Castlevania games on DS none on 3DS, 2KH games on DS and 1 on 3DS, 2 original Zelda games on DS only 1 on 3DS, 3 original pokemon games on DS and only 1 so far on 3DS (we'll be lucky to get 2)...the list goes on.

3 original pokemon? Its 5 games, vs 2 so far. also 3ds has SSB, ds does not, 3ds has a quality FE with another coming, ds has 1... not so good (2 in japan).

Zelda has 2 quality remakes, and 1 original game that was >>>>> than both original Zelda's on DS :p

The 3DS has more quality games than the DS. It takes time to make them. Plus, it is old and handheld gaming isn't what it used to be as cheap mobile games are doing damage. Hey, it has 1000X the support of the Vita so it can't be doing that bad.

I said original pokemon games, Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire are remakes.  Final Fantasy Tactics on DS takes FE's place and on that topic how many FF games are there on the DS?  4?  5?  And there's 2 Braverly Default games on 3DS.  The librarys aren't even close.
