Of course. I want to play with a transgender, with a gay, with a hermaphrodite, with a heterosexual. Give me all you want.
I presume we're talking about supporting cast who this is part of their story/journey?
As a main protagonist which the player designs, the whole "trans" aspect of the transgender would be kinda void/mute if you get what I mean.

Video games full stop are first world comodities. And I doubt exploring gender options even has the capacity to influence the quality of the game in a major way.
Would you settle for the protagonist being an Asari?
