PS4 out of stock on amazon doesn't make any sense at this time of the year. Has demand being that crazy? I wonder how they are doing at other retailers

Zelda was always on TOP 20 for all January-February, and for 2/3 March. (around 69 days)
First week: 350,000; NPD 515,000.

BloodBorne was on TOP 20 by starting of March, and for 1/3 of April. (around 36 days)

175,000 (half of Zelda sales) seem correct for me IMO.

It is the opposite of MS situation. It might actually be a huge deal.

 

In that Stock in the retailer space is being held up by XB1s.

 

Or Sony does not want to end up like MS and is shipping very little.

PS4 is ahead of the XBO in other retailers like Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and Gamestop. I'm not sure why the PS4 is out of stock in Amazon. It can mean ether of these three things: demand is high, Sony didn't bother replenishing stock to Amazon, or Sony undershipped.

MS new strategy to stop PS4's momentum. Overship the fuck out of XBO so that retailers have no room to stock PS4's.

Can MS actually do that? That's just a total dick move :O

Before college I worked in order entry for an electronics OEM. Our distributors would place forecasted orders up to 12 months in advance. (One order with multiple line items of the same sku, each representing a shipment).

I do feel that they would routinely return unsold units, and they'd refuse early shipments.

They really saw how much the limited Batman bundle was selling and wanted to make more of it and shipped less of the regular model.

Either way, if it's sold out it's probably selling well as it's over shipments estimations.

You will probably see the Tlou + the order + bloodborne bundle very soon on amazon.
