I think Sony has struck gold with marketing rights to Mortal Kombat and Batman. MK is a huge series. The previous mainline entry sold over 1 million in the US according to April 2011 NPD.

Amazon is more of an indication of core gamers imo. That is why amazon is often not right during the holidays.

 

In the US 360 even leads the wii leading me to believe that it is more mainstream.

 

Early gen buyers are generally core, and during the non holiday months they are also generally core. Even late gen amazon could be very wrong due to the low price of the consoles, thus making it more accessible to the mainstream audience. But I think PS4 will keep on getting core gamers.

Not exactly. I think 2 months were wrongish. November 2014 had PS4 ahead during BF, December 2013 had PS4 ahead.

What are you talking about ? Amazon is not showing the 360  in the top 100 for April. It might be selling better hourly, but that only means for one hour more 3sextys were sold than Wii Us. Also, Amazon indeed has been right since the PS4, X1, and Wii U have all been out concerning who sold 1st, 2nd and last (wiiu)..

I did not say 360 was outselling the wii u. I said it outsold the Wii LTD to prove a point. And Amazon was not 100% right.

I just checked and December 2013 had XBO #4 and PS4 #8 and November 2014 had XBO #2, #82, #100 and PS4 #11, #31, #79. That looks right so far.
