Forums - Nintendo - I'm genuinely concerned for the Wii U's future

Splatoon, Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, Mario Maker, and Fatal Frame V all look great. Plus N64 (finally get to play Donkey Kong 64) and DS games on Wii U is awesome too. I'm happy with Nintendo's support of the Wii U, maybe because of all the older games you can play on it. Enough Nintendoomed already...

I remember reading many threads with titles similar to this 2 years ago.

Hell 3 years ago even, lol.

In the european direct there was Fatal Frame/ project zero announced

What? Most of the Direct was Wii U related...

After watching the Nintendo Direct, I've come to fear for the Wii U. It was 80% 3DS. AGAIN.

The only mildly interesting Wii U related thing (for me at least) was a LONG overdue trailer, which was SMT x FE. I was expecting at least SOME compensation for the Zelda delay, but was given none.

Maybe E3 will do something for the Wii U... However, I think it's all about the NX from here on out.

I love Nintendo and I don't like to see this happen..

why are you concerned? we have Splatoon, Mario Maker, SMTxFE. Fatal Frame, Yoshi's wolly world, Star Fox, Devil's Third, Xenoblade X and probably something more. Also, a better Virtual Console and DLCS for Smash and Mario Kart. Maybe you should wait until E3 is you want a big surprise, after all this was a random Direct... with Fatal Frame and SMTxFE!

OH THATS RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!! Its April 1

Pocky Lover Boy!

You sure about that? Wii U seemed like it got more coverage.

E3 is 2 months away, they are saving big announcements for that, anybody who thought Nintendo was going to reveal megatons wasn't thinking clearly.

Most of those threads are proving to be true-  The Wii U has performed hisorically poorly for Nintendo since then-  Few if any thought they would drop the Wii U but many thought it would sell poorly due to lack of support an dexecution from Nintendo-   even Nintendo seems hesitant to really get behind the Wi U  and thats not a good look when it is thier console.  Nintendo has lost tons of market share with bot the 3rds and Wii U-  which is not a good thing for either console/market segment

All I wanted was an update on what we already knew for the immediate future. I've been saying the Wii U's days were numbered since the beginning of last year. I don't think this Direct proves that though. We didn't know any 2015 titles until E3 of last year, so the same will be the case at E3 for 2016.

Still doesn't mean the Wii U's last year won't be next year though. I'd mentally prepare for it now so that it's more bearable when I brag about being right next year.
