If MSFT really wants to distance themselves from xbox, why is the new browser called spartan? Why is the helpfull assistant names cortana? Why is xbox live being ingrained with windows 10?

Shouldn't your question be:

"Why is Microsoft now branding Windows with Halo"

You just contradicted yourself. First you say MSFT is distancing themself from xbox, then you admit MSFT is branding their largest product with Halo, which is xbox.  Your exact words were "This is just another addition to a long list of Microsoft differentiating itself from the xbox brand."

This is clearly bait, so there isn't any need for me to reply further.

It appears I have confused you.

Halo is not xbox. Halo is closely tied to xbox, but they are individual brands. Just like Bungie is separate from Halo. They are not one and the same. Windows is branding itself with Halo. Halo is not xbox, Halo -implies- xbox, but it is not xbox. Meanwhile, MS is removing the xbox name from the apps. Do you see where I'm going with this, or am I just confusing you more

Just like konami was devoted to giving kojima everything he needed. Just like kojima is devoted to finishing these upcoming projects. Just like Sony was devoted to the minidisc. Just like Microsoft was devoted to Zune. Just like Sony was devoted to the Vita.

It happens, that's just business talk. In truth there just really is no need for the xbox.

I mean seriously, tell me what the xbox does that microsoft can't do for cheaper?
Google, Apple, Samsung, Amazon all can do what the xbox is doing on a thumbdrive plugged into the back of the tv.

You really think that? Not a single one of those companies is producing AAA games for their gaming products, nor are any of their mobile devices capable of producing graphics on par with Xbox One as of yet. Nor do any of them have a position that allows them to integrate console gaming and PC gaming into one experience (except for Apple maybe).

I don't know why you editted out the rest of the post, can you please not omit pertinent information when having a discussion based on the text?

"Now MS is working on their own streaming device that 'hint hint' specifically looks at PC to TV streaming. PC being where all the Xbox games suddenly are available.
MS has no need for a box."

Yes you are right. These devices are all streaming from phones, with phone graphics. They are not on par with xbox1 or PC. But MS is coming out with a device that would stream from PC. Therefore, your argument doesn't hold up because once the product is available, it invalidates your objection...because there would be a device capable. (again, MS is actually doing this. I didn't post a link just for fun)

Those companies can't compete, but you MUST acknowledge that they are challengers. They are being beaten, but they are still there putting up a small fight. MS streaming from PC would overstep them completely however, both performing their functions and a lot more, while simultaneously repositioning themselves to begin the battle with Valve.

It's really elementary when you think about it.

What? lol I think you're confusing yourself if you don't know your own posts.

The post is right here. It clearly has more texthttp://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/reply.php?id=200649&quote=7188985

I had some weird "cannot display page" when I posted it so maybe something weird happened but I'm literally looking at it on the post right now.

As far as sony, I completely agree that eventually the ps Will disappear. Hence their streaming service directly to tv.
but given thearket conditions, it's clearly more likely that Ms will get out sooner rather than later. That much should be obvious no?

Was this warning not clear?

Everyone: stick to the topic. If you don't like the topic, leave. If you can't carry on a conversation with being sarcastic, condescending, and provocative, then don't post at all.

The mod team has tolerated the back-and-forth sniping so far. That ends right now.

Ohh I see, I made two posts with that reference. Thanks for clearing that up.

Anyway, what do you think of my point?

Doesn't MS own both the Halo IP and the Xbox brand? So, if the company wants its browser to be associated with either property, it's going to be Halo considering it has much larger recognition, at least in my eyes.

There is no condescension there. I'm simply pointing out the facts. But since there has been a warning I'm not going to go further off topic about this. I use facts to base my thoughts and guidance, I do not "ignore counter opinions". As you can see I'm addressing everything that people are saying in this thread.

Somewhat not the point I was making, but yes. Halo is a great brand to associate with. Since the Halo games are going to PC, it only makes sense.

My implication is that PC is Halo's new home. That point is up for debate as well.
