It might very well be. Smash is 1080p 60FPS and if MH4U doesn't have upgraded textures, it is possible.

And I also believe MH3 on Wii U was 1080p 30-40fps, so I guess if they so something similar to it, then I can sort of see it happen.

But I really want it to happen :')

MH3U was 1080p unlocked framerate (averaging around 38 fps.) So yeah they'll probably say it is 60fps unlocked or they might have been able to get it to run at that framerate with optimization.

I have the 3DS version, and of course it would suck that I bought it, but I got the limited edition. So it was kind of worth it in a way haha

Interesting if real. 4U has gotten me interested in it, but I can't get around playing on a 3DS.
