Forums - Sales - Is This The Year Microsoft Throws In The Towel On Xbox?

Microsoft is not going anywhere.

The PS4 is dominating, and many see this as the death of Xbox but that is simply wrong.

THe Xbox brand is strong and here to stay. Probably not as the worldwide market leader.

With how many games? Kinect? Second controller?

Make me a deal, man.

$99 Halo 5 Guardians Bundle and free access to the Hololens beta.

Only 1 of the 3...I'll wait for the Christmas sale.

Some keep saying that just because the ps4 is doing better, does not mean the xbox is dead, that is still selling good. But this is a lie. Its selling ok in the US and that is it. Rest of the world is dead. The xbox will probably stay in the market in the US, but like they did in japan, the rest of the world will stop selling the xbox and china seems to me like the next casualty.

A better question would be wich market will be the next to drop the xbox.

Another thing about the games. Some keep expecting that sony and nintendo will just leave the rest of the year without any games. They may not be as big as zeldaa and uncharted, but they already promised many games would come this year that we dont have release dates yet. While for MS, I expect all we know to be coming to be it and quantum brake oviously 2016, tomb raider we have seen nothing off, so it might be delay.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

Obviously not. After all they've done in 2014 they won't give up soon.

All they have to do is hold till the holidays. As long as it doesnt drop to Wii U numbers they will be fine.

No, not this year. They still have a couple of years to complete a full transition to PC gaming. This year they released Halo on PC, Fable has moved onto PC as well, Halo 5 has already been in development fir XOne so they are stuck with it, but it will probably be ported to PC next year. Gears of War 4 will probably be simultaneously launched on both XOne and PC, and that will be their last XOne game.
I expect Halo to become a PC only game in 2017, which is the year XOne will be discontinued (it might get pulled from Japan and mainland Europe by the end of 2016 already, as the sales there are dead for a while now).

It's apparently the year of predictions so off base that they could be considered trolling more than predicting.

No? What kind of question is this? Just because the XBO is selling worse than the PS4 doesn't mean it's selling badly. MS just needs to ride it out and try to profit as much as they can.

do they?  why should burn money if they could invest it in areas they could win like smart phones?

Based off a few weeks of looking at Amazon sales...

Please.
