Given that this is the philosophy of the guy that invented the damn franchise and is in charge of the Zelda EAD department and is on the Nintendo Board of Directors only 1 step below Iwata himself. Nah. Can't be that. They actually ahve a philosophy of intentionally giving the wrong release dates only so they can smile deviously as they later announce the delay they planned all along. Yeah, that must be it. |
They know that we don't like to wait a long time for games, so they pretend like they're coming sooner than they are. They're not just trying to be devious or whatever; they're just trying to keep us from growing impatient. If almost every game takes a super long time, don't you think they would be smart enough to factor that into their release dates? When a regular consumer can look at a date and say it's bullshit, don't you think Nintendo knows it too? Give them some credit. If they're not lying about their dates, the only other option is that they really are that stupid.
It's like, I get it, they take a long time to make their games good. Yet they're usually unwilling to admit that fact. If they would just come out and be like, "The next Zelda is going to take another half decade," we would be miffed, but at least they wouldn't be lying to our faces.
