and ssj12, PC gaming is much cheaper in the US for some reason. You can find that out just by browsing regional websites. When shopping around for my PC and its components I was pissed off how cheap some American delivery only sites were. |
not really as the rpices typically even out Like the 9800GX2 for exampe. Its supposed to be like 299 Euros or $599USD. |
299€ and 599$? That's quite a lot cheaper in Europe. I think you were meaning 399, which would take the 399 to around 450€ in retail because of taxes.
I believe that 599$ graphichs processor isn't in your 450$ setup? If i buy a PC from a store, the price usually ranges from 500 to 1000€, when Wii costs 250-270€. Vista makes easilly 200€ of the PC:s price.
Now, as a PC gamer, you must know, that you basically need to upgrade your PC constantly. You buy new GPU to get your new game to run decently, and when the next game comes out, you need more RAM, after that for the next game more VRAM, next new CPU, etc. This is when you make it cheap and keep the PC at the somewhat minimum level required. If you want your PC to run games for few years, you need to invest shitload of money for the upgrade. PC:s advantage over consoles is cheaper games, but looking at new Wii games prices and new PC games prices, there really isn't much difference anymore.
PC gaming does have it's own advantages and it fits for people who like to play with the hardware, but if you want to go the easy route, consoles fit for that much better. And one thing why PC gaming is so big, is that people have their PC:s already for other purposes, so why not buy a game for it.
