If Kojima wrote for the next Pokemon games could they get away with the same casual genocide, child-abuse, cosmic horror, enslavement of the dearly departed, terrorism, and animal abuse OR would people start paying too much attention to detail?

Exactly! The question though is if they could get away with that type of stuff if they had him on staff or if he'd draw too much attention to it.

The La-li-lu-le-leet 5, genetic maniplation of the species for the sake of population control. Notice how there are only like 800 people living in all of Japan in the regions depicted in the game? Pokemon were engineered as bio-weapons. Pokemon are a tool for weedling down the numbers so that the people in power can do whatever they want.

Harry Potter is all about the holocaust and Pocahontas about a genocide, it doesn't prevent these to be aimed at children.

It just needs to be more subtle.

Pokemon really does need a good story, but I do wonder how it will turn out if Kojima wrote it... :P
