Forums - Nintendo - Finally bought a Wii today and a bunch of rambling...

Well, I bought 2 Wii's this week. One for my Nephew at Gamestop and one for myself today at Best Buy. It's nice to see that the supply is finally picking up. I stood out in the cold for about an hour before Best Buy opened just to make sure I'd get one. I was #37 out of 53 available Wii's. All were sold out by the time they opened up (handed out tickets).

I talked to a bunch of interesting people in line. One was an older woman buying a Wii for HER MOM...said she wanted to try to get her mother to do some basic exercises with it to try to keep her mobile and stretched out--(based off the woman's age, her mother was probably 80-90 years old). Some were your normal parents with kids.

And a BUNCH were unemployed, redneck bums buying them to sell on ebay for a profit. (I could just tell, so don't ask).

Anyhow, I always was planning ot pick up a Wii, but just not this soon. I mainly wanted it for the RPG's. I don't like Mario, etc. (But I do like Zelda!)

The only game I picked up today was Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. I was surprised to see that very few were buying SSBB with their Wii's (Everyone was getting Wii Play w/ the extra remote)...I almost did just because of the hype, but was afraid I wouldn't like it so decided to wait. (I usually don't like duel fighting type games)

Are there any RPG's out yet--I haven't really followed the games too closely. Any Tales games out yet?

(I know there is a thread for Wii #'s, but I'll include it in here too)...8132 1076 3416 7450

So far my first impressions are really good. Seems simple and very user friendly. Now I just have to get some games for it! Twilight Princess will probably be my next purchase.

I now own a ps3, 360 , & a Wii and am set to enjoy ANY AAA exclusive game now!  Yay!

Sorry for making a "I bought a Wii" thread, but I was excited...so deal with it.

Lol, I didn't know they would sell for more $$$...are they really selling out? I seriously didn't see too many people getting it. They probably had a stack of 150 copies.

Wish I would have now!

EDIT: most people couldn't get a copy, a single copy, unless they preordered, or waited outside!!

There is a Tales game coming in April, it is a direct sequel to Sympona.

Did you like the old kirby games? (SuperStar) If you like them, you will love brawl's single player. Also, I have NEVER liked fighers, but I love SSB, it is really its own genre.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

How on earth would they make a profit? You have listing fees then eBay takes about 15% of what you sell it for then Paypal takes 10%. You lose more than a quarter of what you sell it for. I don't know how much they're going for on US eBay but anyone selling one on eBay UK is now losing money.

ZOMG! Congratz!

OMG you got Fire Emblem that game is fantastic the story is lacking compared to PoR but the extra difficulty and some new features like being able to use coins for forging more than make up for it in every possible way.
