I guess the next 3D Mario will be for this

Those are not pillars... Also I think it should be noted that although we Westerners are looking at this like N "Ecks", in Japan they are likely calling it N "Cross." As in Nintendo Cross. |
Wow, I didn't thought of that. There is hope for the Fusion System!

Well to be fair all this info is in the formative stages. Nintendo teaming up with this company to have them run their stuff instead of themselves was probably smart. It was pretty clear that although Nintendo had good ideas, they couldn't find a way to integrate it into something better.

Er, the concept of a third pillar? Because the last time they made a third pillar it was far from mediocre.

The concept of moving resources to smartphone (and apperently PC) gaming. It will hurt them badly.

no copywright for Nexon = NX ?
Im still confused about this whole thing ( maybe we all are ), but im glad Nintendo is trying something NEW. Both Sony and Microsoft are on that whole VR thing.
Pocky Lover Boy!

First of all, you're in the wrong thread, because this thread is about the new hardware they just announced.
They also haven't moved any resources at all. They bought stock in a company which owns one of the most popular cell phone gaming platforms in Japan, and have authorized this company to use their IP. This sounds like it cost Nintendo money, until you read that said company in return bought an equal value of stock in Nintendo. In addition, this move will almost definitely cause Nintendo's stock price to rise significantly, which is very good for their business.
Did you know that about a year and a half ago, Nintendo bought a whole bunch of shares in Dwango, the owners of NicoNico (basically Japanese Youtube)? This is just like that. It didn't hurt them at all. They didn't "move resources" to online video streaming. They've had some collaborations with NicoNico since then that have not been remotely detrimental to Nintendo's business or to their customers.

But they are not moving resources to mobile. They got another company to make them mobile orientated games with their IP's, while their teams continue as normal. Essentially, they are licensing their characters.
