Forums - General - Just finished watching Beowulf on HDDVD. Have you seen it?

Is this movie out on BluRay as well?

I am upset that HDDVD is dead.  This movie was well worth watching on HDDVD.  I'm not saying it's better than BluRay but movie studios should make movies available on HDDVD.

I thought the movie was very very good.  It took about 30 minutes to get used to it.  Some characters (like John Malkovich) didn't look right.  And the queen looked exactly like Fiona's mother.

Graphics were excellent, sound was excellent (I have a nice surround sound), and the story was not half bad.

Have you seen it on High def?  What did you think?

BTW - Angelina Jolie is HOT!

If it's not out on Blu-ray already, it will not take long for it to come out on Blu-ray. I expect all HD DVD titles to come to Blu-ray so there is no need to worry.

Simply put, it's too expensive for everyone to have two High Definition formats out, and the weaker format has to die to make everyone happy.

Sorry that you got stuck with the loosing format.

it is too bad, but the movie was really good.
If you have HDDVD - it's a must watch.

I'll wait few months and purchase it - hopefully for $4.99

its available on blu-ray in the rest of the world, because WB owns the distribution rights everywhere outside of America. The blu-ray is region free for those curious about importing.

According to some people across the web, HD-DVDs should have magically stopped working right now.

Why else would they think HD-DVD players are paperweights?

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

It wasn't too expensive from a consumer point of view.  The price cutting was incredible.  The day after HD DVD died, all stand-alone Blu-Ray players went up $100 in price.  Talk about sticking it to the consumer.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

i agree, consumers like me got screwed. i really thought both formats could work.

i guess nobody saw Beowulf on HDDVD yet. I recommend it.

At least for now, there are movies I can enjoy that BluRay owners can't

I'll pick it up - I still support HD DVD until it completely dies. I soooo wanna see it. I'll probably Netflix it today and ship all my Blus back, seeming I haven't watched half of them anyhow.
