Smartphones in 2012 still had a long way to go. They are a true goliath now and now dominate japan.  Only a matter of time before software starts swapping over.

This thread was set up to compare good 2015 sales of one console to excellent sales of another.  I don't want to talk about future doom but you guys are giving me no choice.  


Your spinning hard, we were talking about japan a second ago, now its back to WW. I know it declined WW you dont need to argue something we agree on.

You cant just switch the conversation after i just proved everything is ok in japan :-/

I know you don't post much in VGC except empire thread. But there are two things to consider. This is a sales site and its under sales discussion. Numbers are not the complete reflection of the generation. But given the site we are in and thread topic its more than relevant.

The New 3DS was a good boost, but i kinda expect a drop in 3DS since almost a good majority upgraded.

This has spawned a couple of response threads, one of them gave us this little gem of information.

2012: 422,000
2013: 330,000
2014: 249,000
2015: 469,000

3DS sales after the first two months of each year. People going to stop using the "it's in it's 5th year" excuse now?

Don't get me wrong, really happy for Nintendo, been a big Nintendo fan for a long time, but did every Nintendo fan on this site have to jump down this guys throat over nothing?

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Most people count 2011 as its first year because it was available for 10 months of the year, hence 5th year.

Ur right, it wasn't necessary for everybody to jump down this guys throat, but then again was it necessary for him to make a thread downplaying 3DS having a good month? Probably not, so it goes both ways.

I was saying that so far 2015 has been it's best year, but people kept saying that because the 3DS has been out for so long that or course the PS4 was going to do better.

I sort of agree with that, but the OP has said over and over and over again that his point wasn't to downplay the 3DS. He was just surprised that the PS4 has been outselling it thus far.

It launched in March 2011, so you're ignoring 10 months of sales.

This thread is just fuel for the console wars, totally unnecessary.
