Forums - Nintendo Discussion - prediction: Majora Mask 3D will sell 5,000,000 lifetime

Will Majora 3D break 5,000,000 lifetime?

don't will even break 3,000,000... 46 42.59%

4,000,000 seem better. 33 30.56%

i agree with you 5,000,000 prediction. 23 21.30%

pff, 10,000,000 locked. 6 5.56%

Total:108

3 million seems more reasonable to me, Zelda handhelds are never big sellers

I wish, but no.

That would be impressive. The original only sold 3.6m, it's pretty rare for a remake to outsell it's parent, if that has ever even happened at all, not sure. I agree the start is good, a bit better than I expected, but I'll stick with my prediction of 2.5m for the time being, 3m best case scenario. More is better though .

Person 4 The Golden did, barely. Kirby Super Star did by a landslide. It's not unheard of, but it's extremely rare. I have this nagging little hope that somehow my favorite game of all time will manage it, and if any Zelda game could do it it's this one (bigger install base than original, bundled with new hardware, good first week sales, obscurity of original makes remake feel new), but for now I share your 2.5 mil prediction with 3 mil on the outside.

4m is my bet, but 5 is not so crazy, who knows.

Again I have to ask, what are u basing this prediction on? If ur not using any sort of data to justify it then it's more like a desire than an actual prediction.

It is already at 1.1m in 2 week.

The Nintendo game's have legs.

The bundle with the NEW 3DS will help.

Is still a beasting on Amazon.

Only some reason for why i predict 5,000,000.

I believe you don't have to base your prediction solely on that. There are very frontloaded games, especially Zelda games like Skyward Sword which sold 3.42M in its first month and LTD is not even 4M untl now. I tend to believe that Majora's Mask 3D will be this kind of frontloaded Zelda and won't have legs as Ocarina of Time 3D.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

You using VGChartz number, agree?

If it is, VGChartz massive undertracked this game.

Nintendo have confirmed 3,420,000 first month, as you said, but VGChartz have this game at around 2,700,000 in the same period.

We don't have the Nintendo official number's, and considering that VGChartz is nothing withoth the official sales, i think that +5M for SkyWard Sword is already happen... maybe even 6,000,000, or maybe 10,000,000 (ok, maybe nope :P) but withouth official numbber's, who know!

2,030,000 Majora Mask according to Nintendo.
LOL for who predicted 2/2.5 million lifetime , +3million looked at this point... maybe 3 million by end of year? let's see!

2,970,000 to go.

i think it wont pass the original.

It has done very good already. There is no shame if it doesn't get there.

2M is really nice!

I don't think it'll hit 5M anytime soon, though.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
