It makes me truly sad that not only are mediocre AAA titles being accepted by modern gamers, but they're what really sell these days. The worst part is that I suspect younger gamers have no idea how subpar games like this one really are because it's what they're growing up on. Dumbed down graphic showcases that amount to little more than slightly interactive movies.

I've been gaming for 25+ years. My favorite games of all time include Super Mario 3, Mike Tyson's Punchout, Tecmo Super Bowl,  Streets of Rage 2, Metal Gear Solid, Uncharted 2, The Last of Us, Res Dead Redemption, Dead Space, Parasite Eve, Street Fighter, and Fear Effect etc.

I play everything. I know gaming. I love The Order 1886.

Monster Hunter also had a N3DS bundle, which NPD doesn't track as software sales, but Nintendo does.
So, it is reasonable to think that MH placed #10 because a large portion of sales were not considered.

The insider is always a bit vague, but his >200K always means the real number is very close to the given one.

The Order sold 200K, it didn't sell very well digitally, as it sold less than a multiplat releasing 4 days later. It is reasonable to assume that it is very overtracked by VGC.

This number is not a function of quality, fandom or hatred, it simply shows that people were not very interested in the game.

Don't bother. Logic is foreign in this thread.

That's great for you then. But when I play it I don't see much of a game there. And what is there in terms of game form is very bland. It's the presentation values that props it up. But as a game I don't see anything good. This just keeps happening more and more too, especially with the big AAA titles. They want to make it more like a movie instead of a game.

That wouldnt make him a good insider. Especially considering he's able to give exact percentages on multiplats. Very illogical conclusion to come to.

If he cared about exact numbers he'd just give the exact number or a pie chart so it can be worked out.  I'm sorry but your basing your ideas on pure speculation.  So am i but as they say I'm not wrong unless proven beyond all reasonable doubt!

And this is where I see you're not going to listen to reason. Goodbye

See ya dude! let me when you have something official and not speculation.  I'll believe you then. Until that,  I'll stick with my more reasonable speculation!

Look at Burek's  comment after you posted this.

As opposed to die hard Sony fans buying The Order? Are you trying to say that die hard DBZ fans wouldn't buy physical copies?

No, I'm saying Die Hard Fans of anything are more likely to buy digital than any other gamer because they know they'll probably always keep it and it's faster access to the title. I do this with all Street Fighter iterations. Secondly, die hard SONY fans bought the Order? Yeah, that makes sense considering that every great Sony exclusive sold like hotcakes the last 7 years (that's sarcasm btw, MS devotees clown PS users for exclusives not selling well ad nauseum). Why couldn't it be die hard fans of highly stylized cinematic games with interesting stories and gameplay (ie ME!) or die hard graphics whores bought the Order? Food for thought.

I don't think that is true at all.

Cookie?

Master of the quip.

If I had thought that it would actually result in a logical reponse, at least losely based in fact, I would have asked you to elaborate, but given what I've seen in this thread so far, I didn't bother.

Well, you're in the minority of you say you think this game is bland. Most gamers actually played the game enjoy their time with The Order...soooo? And as a game you see NOTHING GOOD?! Like really? lol I just...

Yeah this thread is getting a lock. As other mentioned early on, the premise that there was an internet wide smear campaign doesn't really hold up too much weight. But after a couple moderations, this thread has just become a breeding ground for flamebait directed towards other users, enough is enough.
