Forums - Sales - The Order 1886 sales nearly 600,000 copies in 2 days. #SmearCampaign=Failed

Most reviews were 7+, where is the smear campaign? People really need the games they like to b 80+ on metacritic, I don't get it lol. Just enjoy, be happy for sales, pray for a better sequel :P

Gonna feel uncomfortable and awkward around here if Bloodborne is too good and escapes all the hate. It'll be like walking with no legs.

But all signs are pointing toward Bloodborne really being good and really escaping the hate. It gets "hate" from me for being too hard for my skill set, but I am objective enough to realize that the problem lies in me, and not in the game.

Exactly.  If I'd a choice between the order and Bloodborne I'd choose the order.  Bloodborne born will be reviewed for what is. The order wasn't.

600k sold, 600k completed campaigns... 2 days. Can't wait for "Bloodborne", though!

I'll be picking up "The Order" in the bin when it hits $20.

Kinda being off-topic here. But I got the game yesterday and I'm having a really good time playing it. Very fun and well-polished experience. It does have its share of flaws though. How could anyone who enjoyed Uncharted series not enjoying this ?

How so?

for "derailing" and 'not being the place to talk about it'

... but then people go around doing the same for games like COD or the order and I never see them getting 1 week bans.

How is that derailing... The point of this thread as well as many other threads that have been about the order was cause of its "low score" and this thread is no different... The OP is trying to downplay the low score of the game by claiming that it was due to some nonsense "SmearCampaign" which isn't true and that the reason why so many people bought it was cause its a great game and that they didn't listen to the "propaganda" while in reality, that is not the case at all. And I am just telling him to deal with it cause the score and opinions of people about the order is not going to change and we don't need 50 more threads about it

That makes sense, but how do I possibly explain that to the mods?

At the moment its one rule for one game and other for another game.

Ehm, because different opinions?

"Problems With Moderation.
If you have a problem with a moderator or a moderation, send the moderator who issued your moderation a private message (Rule 11 applies to PMs as well as posts, wall posts, and any other moderator-related conversation), and if you are still dissatisfied, send a private message to the Lead Moderators.

Do not post these issues in the forums, outside of moderator-sanctioned threads, or on the moderator's wall - doing so will result in moderation action against you."

I don't expect to see any more posts like this outside the mod thread or in personal messages.

Derailing would be if somneone came in and started talking about something different, and being slightly trolling. Derailment is somewhat of a trolling. It would be like if I said, "I understand your opinion, but looking at what games you play, I'm not surprised".

Like, this post very post is not derailing. It's somewhat within context because it's responding to events happening within the thread. Similarly, mini-derailments happen all the time within threads, but it's contextual and somewhat sensitive to the person hitting the report button. If someone feels you made a derogatory comment or otherwise which could hurt the thread, then it can be reported for derailment. Another example would be talking about Sony fiscal reports and somebody talking about whether or not buildings were sold. Or for instance in this sales thread about 1886, to talk about how Tomb Radier xb1 is going to beat these numbers.

EDIT: Except of course when a mod comes in and specifically says not to talk about this anymore, like above :D
I would guarantee though that my post would not be reported.

That is what I'm asking about. I found the experience to be similiar to Uncharted franchise on so many levels. Why the opinions are vastly different on experiences that have a good deal of similarities ?

But thinking about it. The Order takes away the controller from the player a lot,  with or without a good reason. I can see a lot of people hating that. The devil is in the details, I suppose.

Criticism over the game occurred due to trope mistakes made by the designers.

Things like repeating enemies, patterns, accessibility, etc. If you're playing the game to enjoy it, you will enjoy it, but if you're looking to criticise it, you will find stuff because there are a lot of "holy grail" mistakes.

For example, whenever you fight the werewolves, there is a repeating pattern of charging, hiding and attacking...sometimes by multiple directions, sometimes by one. This is seen as being a typically "poorly programmed encounter" because it's basically a loop of animation. While you're playing it, it's not nearly as terrible as when you're watching it.  It's over fairly shortly and the risk level is high enough to keep you engaged, but watching it...watching it makes it feel cheap. Watching any game makes it feel cheap, and that's the problem. Critics feel they can simply watch a game and decide whether it's good or not.
