Forums - Sony - Why does "Powers" exist?

I'm shocked that it cost that much, considering how bad and cheesy the thing looks. seems like a waste of money in my opinion.

Brian Michael Bendis is a hack.

That is all.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Just watched the first episode. I really, really wished they'd quit using the word 'powers' about halfway in. Not bad, makes me want to check out the comic to see how it compares.

They probably spend a little bit more on the cast than your typical show, though the effects are pretty much on par from what I've seen from other shows

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Why does any show exist?

(hint: to be watched)

What I mean is, what's in it for Sony? It's expensive, and due to how it's being delivered, unlikely to be all that popular.

But is primary purpose was still to attract viewers.

The delivery method makes no difference, if you torrent it or watch it elsewhere, if you actually like it you would potentially end up watching it at the source.

Besides, the cost of product placement in your own show is zero, so had the show become super popular the series would have paid for itself several times over in advertising alone.

Not every show becomes popular, networks still give new shows a try though.

It exists because MS announced they were making lots of TV shows like the Halo one, Quantum Break etc. Sony wanted to as well to stay competitive. But overall these shows will be flops. They are expensive and only people subscribed to Plus and Gold can watch. There will be no word of mouth, no promotion and more importantly, no advertising revenue.

I'd rather see a series based on the inFAMOUS universe...

The special effects on the powers and abilities would be too expensive.
