Forums - Gaming - Single Player vs Multiplayer

Hard to say... I enjoy single player games everynow and then (it's pretty much my own special time to myself sort of thing), but I also love playing the huge multiplayer games like Smash Bros/Halo which pretty keeps me and my friends amused.

And I agree about the avatar, PDF. It's great. I wonder what would've happened to Crash and Spyro had the IPs not been bought by Universal. The games would still kick ass, and Sony would have two mascots almost as notable as Mario and Sonic.

I agree, I miss Crash Bandicoot from the three that I own (2, 3, and CTR). I haven't spent too much time with Spyro, but those are some good singleplayer games out there. Going back and playing my Crash Bandicoot games is like going back and playing Mario now.

Good and classic.

i think single player

^great way to get free games and accessories for PS3,360,Wii,PSP and DS. Residents of US,UK,CANADA and AUSTRALIA (It actually Works i have done it and their is testimonials with pics)

Single player hands down. Multi-player always breeds competitiveness in people and with them being anonymous on the internet brings out the @#$hole in them, especially when you have some squeaky voiced punk trying to talk tough. I know that doesn't happen to every one but I seem to come across more than my fair share.

singleplayer my preferred genres dont play well with others

I prefer the strong single player experience with a very good story. The main reason being that I can have a good, enjoyable and reliable experience that does not depend on the availability of other players or servers. I don't know how online game servers work these days but I read periodically of popular multiplayer games' servers being shut down after a few years since the game came out. So with those games you then end up with the single player experience only in the end, so it had better be good.

The second reason being that I only have a dial up modem connection. Broadband is prohibitively expensive in South Africa! But even if I had cheap and uncapped broadband I would still prefer single player.

I prefer offline multiplayer. Nothing beats playing with your mates together in the same room.

However, I prefer single player to online multiplayer. Online multiplayer is too impersonal - It's like playing a more difficult and less predictable CPU.

Multi-Player for me.
Its so much more satistying completing the objective(defeating your opponent) than against computers and has more replay value than Single Players.

I know a lot of people that play Multi but don't bother with the big title single player FPSs.

crappy old school NES games are more entertaining than next-gen games.

Multi-player, clearly. If you count the SMG multi-player, for me, that made the game go from superb to fantastic. My mom picked up star bits, and she did perhaps enjoy the game MORE than I did. And I think it was the 2nd best game ever.

Multi (at least on Nintendo systems, I haven't owned any other) also has to have a fun effect, while single-players can oftenly be a bit boring. Also, for a generation, you need 2 amazing multi-player games, while you need 10 single.

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS

Great Single player, or great local(offline) multiplayer, Online multiplayer is minimal for my needs. I'd prefer games with local multiplayer and a split screen any day.

Hmm, pie.
