OT: I'm having the same problem as a few here, I'm not in the position to have a dedicated room right now, hopefully later this year. I have shelves here and there dedicated to a certain system in a couple cabinets all around this and another house! It's a mess .

I'm impressed something ticked you off. Was it really the houses? Window ventilation? Radiators?
BTW no canals near the appartment, just two artificial lakes stone's throw away. Dus geen woonboot buiten.

Lol I thought I saw a 'woonboot' through the right window, guess it's just a regular house then . The radiators ticked me off at first, then the window frames and ventilation confirmed it for me.
