Forums - Gaming - Would a PS4 like this sell in the year 2015?

What would you think of it?

Sounds nice actually 9 25.71%

Sounds horrible 21 60.00%

Halo 5 14.29%

Total:35

A PS4 that could max out any game at 1080p-1440p at 60 fps, same controller (except the home menu button, that can't be there), same console design.

but with..

- No online capabilites

- No Netflix, YouTube, or any other TV or video apps

- No home menu

- Every game has graphics and texture options, just like a PC

- Instead of hard drives, there's just a regular memory card

- A power brick

At a starting price of $200

That'd be perfect for third world countries with low income and poor internet infrastructure.

So yes. /thread

eh I don't think that would go over well with the console audience

XBOX ONE/Wii U/3DS/PC

RIP Iwata 12/6/1959-7/11/2015

Thanks for all the great memories!

I mean there's many things wrong with the this idea or concept, but no online capabilities? So, basically what you're saying is that I'm SOL if a game releases half broken. No thanks.

And 1080p-1440p at 60fps for $200? Sure, if the graphics are basic.

Current gaming platforms - Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, New 3DS, PC

No. Half the games would be at least somewhat broken or lacking content due to the day one patch being inaccessible.

It would sell, but Sony getting the machine down to that price, with the ability to max the graphics of games out at 1440p 60FPS would require a more powerful APU and faster memory than PS4 has.

An ethernet connector on the motherboard in the console is cheap, so it's pointless removing it, just leave the option in, same goes for a connector for the HDD, give people the options to buy one.

If you give PC centric options then why not build a PC?, for it costing $200 that would mean selling at a loss because I'm pretty sure if you wanna go full on 1080/60/1440p it's going to cost more than $200, hell just about sub 1080/60 will be a bit more than $200, it just seems better to have backwards compat and have enough hardware to go 1080 60 all the time with hardly any media services and basic online with the console costing at least $350-400 (like it more or less is).

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

I thought this thread was gonna have a pic of one of those fake PS3s or PS4s from back in the day. I'm sort of disappointed.

It sell nice.

For the 2015, i said 16,000,000 or 17,000,000.

It would sell a few consoles, but there is no way of offering that for only 200$. Sony would lose a lot of money.
