Forums - Sales Discussion - Amazon US March monthly bestsellers and general amazon based discussion

We have a clue to how the sales of Type-0 are distributed in the US. Here are the numbers from the UK (borrowed from GAF):

PS4 version: 16,095 (78%)
XB1 version: 4,480 (22%)

MCC #55
AC #59

Bye bye AC bundle. Let's see how high the MCC bundle gets. I doubt it will go too high considering its lackluster performance so far.

Ps4 almost at 10k ratings!

Too soon. MCC back down to 61 with Unity at 56.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

I think March is going to be a record month for the PS4. All these older games getting price reductions tells me that the publishers are seeing an opportunity to capitalise on a surge in console sales.

The PS5 Exists.

Bloodborne holding really well. The Order doing well at new price point.

Not sure why X1 is struggling so much right now, if that is the case across other retailers MS must be pretty concerned.

We'll see with NPD. But knowing that the XB1 is already cheaper than PS4 and is already being outsold in the US for 2 months (soon 3), they'll have to make another move. Maybe throw in a 2nd controller or a year of XBL Gold.

Or they could just settle for second.  It's not like their install base would be small or unprofitable.  No reason to lock themselves into an unsustainable, unprofitable business model.

@poklane:
If MS does that it will hurt more than help. The value of Xbox as a mass appealing product is fading.
MS have to make something that generates hype, that make people WANT an Xbox.
Sony did exactly this, just look at the results of PS4 so far.

Well... say goodbye to any chance of leading US Xbox!!
Everything PS4 is selling very good or decent, cards, games, acessories, etc...
I highly doubt that PS4 will be ever again passed by the Xbox, even in christmas.
Like i said before Sony played the market game right this time, PS4 value perception is just getting stronger.
All that end of year firesale give a little boost to Xbox, but the price they paying now is high, with the value perception of his product decresing together with sales.

People calling for temporary PS4 price cuts in November look silly now.

It's like Apple products, it retained its value. Xbone tried going back to normal price and it destroyed its January sales.

Perhaps MS should start bundling Kinect 2 with the XB1 ...
