Actually we have no idea on this.. so really adding together listings is futile..    

Lets say a #30 spot means it sold 50 that hour.. and the #50 could mean it sold 40.. we have no idea of the difference between rankings.. it could be 1 unit each..  who knows..    #10 spot could be 80 units.. so the combinations of #30 and #50 could be 90 units and put it above top 10.. but again.. we have NO clue.. it could be the complete opposite and mean nothing..  

It really could go either way.     

No one knows, But again, this is the hourly, it can mean even less, we have to judge at least by the monthly ranking.

Your right, it could go either way, but seing as how this is based on millions of consumers across the country, the rankings are also a singh of popularity of the item. Its an statistical imposibility for it to be that favorable and much closer to a negative outcome considering its such a large sample size and wide area.

Okay, either I'm completely misunderstanding you, or what you're saying doesn't make any sense. If we are trying to find out where the XBO would be ranked if it only had one SKU. Are we after the same thing?

Anyway, if the AC sku at 50 sells X units, and the MCC bundle at 60 sells Y units, then X+Y must be more than X alone, thus the combined rsnking would be 50 or lower, never over 50.

Based on what? You have no idea if 50+64 is still just 50, or if it's 20 or 10. Amazon might have 15,000 items in the video game category, but at some point in that list items will be selling at less than 1 item per day, and really far down the list the rankings will be based on when was the last sale for the item, which might have been months ago, but one day less than the item immediately behind it. If 49-50= 200 item difference, and 64=150 items then that means the combined skus still leaves it at 50. But if 20-50=200 and 64=201 then the combined sku would sit at rank 20.

There is simply no way of knowing what the combined ranks of 2 skus adds up to. The only thing we can have some confidence about is that the ACU bundle has dropped a lot, and it has probably not been totally compensated for by a corresponding rise in the MCC bundle.
