[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

VR will attract hardcore gamers

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

I hope you are aware that there is no such thing as a "cheap VR system". That thing would need to be extremely powerful. PC Level Powerful.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Nahh, I doubt it cause of the success of the ps4

Could the PS5 be entirely built around creating a cheap system designed for Morpheus support? Do you think Sony could market it to be 'the Wii of VR' (the Wii ofcourse having been 'the Wii of motion controls') rather the being 'the Xbone of VR' (the Xbone ofcourse being 'the Xbone of user monitoring interfaces').

No, because Sony just showed in their four gens that building a box easy for 3rd parties to support, with the best power-price ratio is their game, and they are usually very succesful with that.

Expect basically a normal box like PS4 with more storage and more power. A update DS controller as usual and new OS. Slap a decent price point (likely 400 bucks again) and pack it with a HDMI cable, power cord and USB cable. PS5, that's it. A bundle with VR (Morpheus 2) only if Morpheus is a big hit on PS4.

Their approach isn't oriented by gimmicks, they go for the power-price route and focus on gaming.

Cheap=/= Morpheous

If say the next system was designed around making the most of morpheous it will have to be a powerhouse by nature.

If anything what you're talking about will be the PS4 later in its life because it too will support morpheous.

I REALLY don't think Sony will want to repeat a large price point like PS3 at launch again. They will try to keep to $400 again especially now that they'll have over 50% market share. Why throw away the hardcore and softcore when, unlike Nintendo when they released the Wii, you have them in the palm of your hand and only have to fight for the US and UK?

exactly Sony has shown they like the gimmicky stuff to be kept to peripherals.  They provide the gaming hardware then if you want the other stuff you can get it attached.

It's easier that way. If it flops, you just screwed a peripheral, not an entire console. And despite that, I think they see these peripherals as extras, not as the focus of the console.

If they could get it priced around 150$ like kinect it could be. If done right this could boost ps4 sales by 20 or 30 million.
