One of my friend's owns a wii u and barely plays any games whatsever on it except when one of nintendo's staple games is released. He's a long time casual and he calls himself that. I would have to agree with kerotan about 3rd party games. If someone puts in a lot of hours consistently into any game, they're not a casual.

So you're basing it on a guy you know?

Based off my experience gaming and the people that I know, yes. Just like he's basing his idea that the majority of the casual gamers who bought the xbone and ps4 because of 3rd party games. Same thing with the majority of the threads, reviews and opinions on here. They're subjective. :D

What's sad is a poll with no sensible answer, even though it was intended to cover all bases.

That aside, I'd say there's more excitement for the speculation itself rather than the actual game.

Seeing you know a lot more about Nintendo than me you might clear up my conFUSION ,   will the new console take Nintendo further out of sync with the other consoles  in regards to the life cycle and if so is that a bad or good thing.

Yes, the next Nintendo home console will take Nintendo further out of sync. It's not like Nintendo has any other viable option than to do just that.

It's a good thing because it should result in an increased emphasis on exclusive software and that means more games that justify the purchase of the system.

Thank you for the reply , thinking about it I couldn't see what else they could do, the only  negative I can think of  is the whole underpowered/overpowered debate  , and  3rd parties love of near parity, but that is something that can't be won anyway .

Any idea on what they will try to do to further differentiate themselves?

Nintendo isn't a big part of the problem, the third party are. I might be one of those guys that cry conspiracy but seriously, do you expect year old ports to sell well? I don't. Especially if they run better on weaker hardware. Nintendo gave them HD graphics and its as easy to design for as a 360. Nintendo could give them the most powerful console ever and they wouldn't support them. Money hatting is dumb so that is out of the question. The only thing and i mean the only thing nintendo needs to do at this point is expand and grow. They should have started this last gen when they were making said money but it can't be helped now. They need to buy some developers and open more studios so they have more games in the pipeline. A lot of these "indie devs" are gonna make it big, and if nintendo sees potential they should partner with them. etc etc.
Long story short, Nintendo expansion = more games = more sales for console because less droughts.

Bioshock PS3, Mass Effect 2 PS3, Last of US remastered, GTA 5 for PS4 and Xone and those are just some of the top of my head. So this whole late ports dont do well is nonsense so the problem has to lie with Ninty

I knew someone would mention these. You can't count GTA, its GTA. If they ported it to the Wii U even it would sell well there. Last of Us is a popular game with a lot of hype, and it also had bundles and a lot of people who owned ps4 didn't have ps3s. ( a lot upgraded from wii and 360 to ps4 than from ps3 to ps4, we had some statistics for that back then). There are always going to be exceptions but year old ports do not do well. Another thing you have to realize is that building an audience from a fanbase doesn't happen overnight. The problem lies with the third party. You know something these ports do that the Wii u ones don't? They run properly. the Wii U always has gimped versions which is another reason you don't see them selling well and  I mentioned it in my last post ut you clearly ignored that.

I gave you four games and you still tell me that late ports dont do well? Whats your excuse for teh other two games that you ignored? I really want to know about ME2 since that was a game that heavily relied on having played the previous one AND was released at full price a year later. Still did well. GTA is GTA tell that to the DS one, didnt exactly light the world on fire. And the PSP version didnt sell all that less considering that was a late port as well. Last of US would have done well without bundles maybe not the numbers it did do but still ok. IMHO it sounds like you're making excuses. It was hyped? So Batman, COD AC arent games that get hyped.

Ive played a bunch of WIi U 3rd party games and this whole they dont run well is nonsense. Need For Speed ran more than well. Tekken Tag 2 ran well. Batman Arkham City ran ok. Arkham Origins not so much but that game ran badly on all systems, even PC version was known to crash. ME3 ran fine, yes thats a crap example but that goes back to the ME2 PS3 version. Deus Ex ran fine. COD ran fine. Hell the only real games that didnt run well were the AC games and again none of those really ran great on the other consoles. And they didnt run so bad that they were unplayable. I ignored it cause its fallacy two games dont make that statement true. 3 almost forgot Splinter Cell.
