It scares me that America is actually voting for Hillary Clinton.

Surely she's better than George Dubya?.

There's a difference. Dubya is an idiot. A monkey in a leather arm chair controlled by big corperations.

Hillary is pure seething evil. She has a friendly womenly fasade but is obsessed with power and doing anything she can to move up the ladder. She is sort of like the comedian Colbert. Colbert does satire on Republicans, but what does he truly belive in? Everyone knows these people's TV personnas but no one really knows what they are really like. It's creepy.

Oh and there's this. *shivers* Pure evil dude.

I dont know what you guys have against hilary?

I find her to be the best for the job, she wants us to have universal health care, and she has the ability to change this country into what it was before Bush.

I dont really know why people want McCain.

mM

Not everyone wants universal healthcare you know. People with decent jobs (50k a year) will get worse benefits then there current plans and will have to pay a lot more for taxes to foot the bill. Also Hillary takes more money from lobbyists than any other candidate.

McCain has the advantage of being one of the most senior senators in Congress. If you watch C-SPAN at all you see him all the time, he has a lot of weight on Congress and isn't afraid to call someone out on something even if they are in his party. He's not a perfect guy mind you but he's a hell of a lot smarter than Bush. Personally I think we need someone like Obama who is as honest as they come and he has morals (he refuses to run a single negative ad).

The way I see it:
- Obama = honest guy
- McCain = knows what he's doing
- Hillary = Has great ideas, but seems a bit to power hungry for my taste.

a black guy, a woman, and a man who could be the oldest ever elected all running for president. pretty interesting.

at first, i really thought obama wouldnt get far just because he is black. simple as that. i thought hilary would rip through competition because she simply has clinton in her name. also she has "expirience"

now it seems its pretty close. im going to go with obama for prez. he has some good new ideas.

johnn mcain. i dont know anything about that man, so i wont say anything about him..

vote for obama!! a tip from your friendly neighbours to the north.

Universal healthcare doesn't equal only healthcare. It's possible to have a universal healthcare plan and also private healthcare. Many countries do it. Though it would be more expensive for people who want private healthcare.
Also, many republican stances are as "antifreedom" as democratic stances.

If you want a pro "Freedom" agenda you need to vote libretarian. If that party even still exists. That would really be the fiscal conservative & Soical Liberal party i was talking about... but hopefully a little less crazy.

Obama really needs to win for the democrats because he's the one that can energize the base more.

Which is why Clinton will win. It's like I heard on Public Broadcasting the other day. The democrats never fail to miss a chance to miss an oppurtunity.

And you don't think this is good?  That people that have more help the poorer people?  Some persons are not as lucky as others in life, people are not equal at birth because of social conditions, so I personaly believe that we have to insure that everybody have access to health cares.

This is one of the biggest difference between Canadians and Americans I guess, I could not tolerate to see children die because their parents can't afford to pay.

Universal healthcare is needed.... just not right now and not in the way Hillary proposes.

We can leave the progressive ideas to happen after we have stabilized our country, it always happens this way anyway. After WWI, Women's suffrage and Prohibiton. After WWII, civil rights. After we finish these wars and get our economy back on track is when we finally deal with gay rights and health care.

Im voting for McCain because he is the most moderate and best suited for the Presidency. He has a very clean record, especially considering all of his years in politics. Obama, while he could do a decent job as well, is too inexperienced for the job and Hillary will be hell bent on health care instead of the problems we really face.

in canada we have free healthcare woot.

This is how I see these things: When the government takes money away from someone rich and gives it to someone poor, Democrats/liberals call it compassion.

When Republicans try (and often fail) at keeping the government out of the pockets of individuals so they can do what they see fit, including donating money, Republicans call that compassion...

Now I don't know about you guys, but I don't see how the police force of the government forcefully taking away from one person and giving to the other person is compassionate. There is no compassion is forcing someone to be "compassionate."

But really the whole system in America is bunked... we need to change the paradigm and limit the vote to local and representatives in congress. Let the electoral college cast the votes and choose the President. This whole beauty contest that has run for well over a year now, is tiresome, boring, and disingenuous.

Two notes about health care and Canada:

1) Canada's health care isn't perfect. They don't offer some of the more expensive, more effective treatments in the US. Not to mention the fact that if you want a simple surgery you have to wait for months. You know what many Canadians do if they want better quality, faster treatments? They go to the US. There are hundreds of clinics right under the border that are there for Canadians who want to pay for better health care. People who want the best treatments go to the US, I mean heck even the Premier of the USSR once flew to Johns Hopkins for an eye surgery since no one in Russia was capable of doing it. Bottom line: Canada's healthcare is very good, but don't get the idea that it the best for everyone and every country.

2) People seem to get the idea that if your poor, you die in the U.S. this simply isn't true. If you are sick and show up at a hospital you get the treatment you need. If you can't pay for it the taxpayers foot the bill. I work at a hospital part time and I can tell you, about 30% of the patients that stay overnight end up not paying for it. The U.S. already spends about 1/4 of its taxation income on medicare, medicaid, and the like. Bottom line: Sure in the U.S. you don't get free prescriptions or surgery, but no one is denied life saving operations.
