Nintendo Wii U: Mario 3D World pushed me over the edge.
3DS: Awakening bundle.

The Wonderful 101 was my initial buy with my Wii U, but the promise of Bayonetta 2 was a bigger draw into getting me to buy the system.

If I can be completely honest, I got the PS4 for the inevitable RPGS multiplat and exclusive alike. And when I play the multipat RPGs, I want to play them at their peak. Therefore I will be playing on PS4.

I got my Wii U for multiple exclusives (Mario Kart 8, Super Mario 3D World, New Super Mario Bros. U and Wii backwards compatibility since I don't have a Wii). No single game would have been enough.

I got my PS4 for its potential. No single game would have been enough.

No XBOne yet, but Halo 5 and future Gears of War games make it tempting.

As for previous gens and handhelds, I got my DS Lite for New Super Mario Bros. I was not disappointed. This was the only system where a single exclusive persuaded me to get it.

I got my PS3 just after launch in anticipation of Final Fantasy 13, and for PS2 backwards compatibility (I never had a PS2). I was let down by FF13, but other games more than made up for it (exclusive or otherwise).

I got my PSP late in the gen for its library.

I got my PSVita so I could actually play all of free games I got with PS+.

I bought a wii u for project cars and I expect project cars -_-

I can't say I've ever bought a console for a single exclusive game, I've normally grabbed them when they have a few, I bought my 3DS back in 2013 and got Pokemon Y, AC:NL and FE:A, when I got my PS3 I grabbed MGS4,GTA IV, Red Alert 3 and Burnout paradise.

This gen though I haven't gotten any yet, I am supposed to be grabbing a Wii U first because their exclusives interest me the most and it;s the cheapest console than the other 2 with free online play, I use my PC as my primary platform for it's exclusives (Like RTS games being my fave genre and consoles have next to none) and multiplats since they're usually cheaper and modding is the icing on the cake.

For exclsuives like bloodborne but the ps4 performed so well with multiplatforms i wanted to have it ealier espaically since a lot of crossplatform and remastered games are coming out at daily basis. It feels kinda like a waste to buy them on older consoles.

I don't see why. I loved The Evil Within on 360, and I'm going to enjoy Resident Evil Revelations 2 on the same console as well. :P

I bought the Wii U for a new experience.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate made me get a Wii U.
