An old girlfriend told me that one time in bed I was really drunk and called her Nintendo. I didn't believe her, but I kinda hope it was true, because Nintendo is a million times sexxier than her, and Miyamoto is the reason for that sexxiness.

Miyamoto brought sex appeal to gaming. He brought JUMPING to gaming, hence inventing the platformer with Jumpman in Donkey Kong. He brought BOSS BATTLES to gaming, with Bowser in SMB1. He brought FUN to gaming. I always feel like a kid, and I'm never growing up, ever, and yet, Miyamoto is the only person who makes me feel old, just because I know I can't stay as young as he is. He can make games about picking friends out of the ground and throwing them at enemies. He can make games about raising dogs or staying in shape. He can make games about shooting monkeys in space. He can make games about dinosaurs saving babies. The man can do anything.

Anybody who thinks we'd have a gaming industry at all without Miyamoto is kidding themselves. Imagine playing games without jumping or bosses, let alone jumping ON or AT or AWAY FROM bosses. And as if inventing and mastering the 2-D platformer wasn't enough, he invented and mastered the 3-D platformer. When 4-D gaming comes out, Miyamoto will be the man to watch. And copy.

My thoughts and dreams about the greatest man in the world. I would marry him and cook his dinner, and I'm not gay.

He, and he alone, is the reason I'm a Nintendo fan, and I owe about as much of my childhood and who I am, to him, as I do to my own parents.

Shigeru Miyamoto is so awesome that in video game land you don't see characters cosplaying as Mario and Link, you see Mario and Link cosplaying as Shigeru Miyamoto.
