Forums - Nintendo - New 3DS Question

Okay so I'm not really liking what I would have to do when I eventually get my New 3DS. Since I upgraded to a 32 GB SD card, I would also need to buy a 32 GB micro SD card correct? Since I would need to have a micro SD card of equal or greater value.

So I was thinking I could transfer back FROM my 32 GB SD card on my XL to the old 4GB SD card that originally came with it. Is this possible to do? I never bought any big digital games, so the total space wouldn't be an issue.

I'm also not worried about save data since save data is saved onto the cartirdige itself. By doing this method I would not have to buy another micro SD card or a screwdriver.

So my question is ,am I able to transfer from my 32GB SD card back to the original 4GB SD card the system came with?

Any help will be appreciated! Thanks!

Ugh, only issue is I don't have an SD card reader on my computer.

I have multiple 3DS', so I can't just transfer from each?

First, is there less than 4GB of data on your SD card?

Yea it is a bit of a drag doing this but you will only need to do it once so imo. Go to a store, buy an sd card reader, transfer it, and then return the sd card reader to the store

32gb micro sd cards also cost $15 when they go on sale

The 32GB one? I'm sure it is. I only have the ambassador games and a few others. Has to be less than 1.5 GB. I onlt have never bought a full retail game on the 3DS as I still go full retail for purchases.

Then you shouldn't have a problem to transfer it to the 4GB card as far as I know.

But I would need a SD card reader right? I can't just use another 3DS system to transfer between SD cards, can I? I was honestly thinking of just deleting my games that I have on there and once I link my NNID to my new 3DS, I could just re-download them from the eshop... right?

It seems to be possible to transfer wireless as well, but it should take a bit longer.

Maybe this video will help you!
