Princess Moninoko is a must see by everyone, even if they hate anime.

I will hate myself for saying this.. but Fruit basket is okay, it's not horrible, but it's not something that will make you go... "wow"

What I would really recommend is "Whisper of the Heart" by Ghibli Studio. It's a movie and it's really good.

I would say watch as many Ghibli studio films, Grave of the Firefly, Howl's Moving Castle.... so on.

I love the studio Ghibli films. I even have a picture book of Princess Mononoke. Miyazaki FTW!

My friend says he recommends a series called "Suzuka" :x I'm not sure if it will be to your liking but I'd look into it :)

Personally I've never liked action movies.
I've only seen one though.
The deathnote action movie....

I am looking for the "WOW" factor.
I have free time, but its still limited, so I am hoping to watch some really great anime this week.

Evangelion? not yet but luinil already sold me.
