Poll in my soul

As long as Halo gets good reviews I'm good 14 11.02%

Agreed 100 78.74%

Evolve has a lot of DLC t... 13 10.24%

Total:127

So I recently played Dying Light at a friend's house, and it was an amazing experience. Almost everyone on the internet likes or loves Dying Light, and almost everyone who has played Evolve has said it's alright or it's meh. Here's the thing, Dying Light scored a 73 on metacritic, but Evolve is somewhere above 80 on metacritic. Dying Light has an 8.0 user score, but Evolve has somewhere below a 5.0 user score. Also a lot of PS4 exclusives have gotten horrible reviews but a lot of people like them. I know just because I feel a game should get good reviews doesn't mean it should, but when almost everyone enjoys a game, it makes me feel some of these reviews are bullshit.

Quite an aggressive OP. Different people have different opinions; reviewers are only their to provide theirs and, with enough reviews, you can form a consensus. That isn't airtight though. I've found myself enjoying some games which reviewed fairly poorly much more than games which were well reviewed. Everyone has different opinions, and I don't think you can reasonably blame reviewers for your tastes not lining up perfectly with theirs.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Well, I think it's hard for people to take a point seriously when you throw in the Playstation conspiracy thing. Granted, I sort of agree with you on that front, but the larger issue of Reviewers disconnect with their fans is certainly a disturbing trend.

I would simply encourage you to do your own research, ignore reviews, and most certainly aggregate scores. Seek the input of friends and family, and online acquaintances. It'll take time to recognize the individuals online that you see eye to eye with, but it'll be worth it in the long run.

Also when reviewers give games a good score then they are bought and when they give games a bad score they are a joke.

OP your profile pic is TLoU. IMO that game is not even 80% because it plays bad on its original console. (playing well is the most important aspect of the medium GAME imo) The PS4 version is much better yet has a lower score as far as I know. This is what I call a joke. The crap version has a better score than the good version.

Also having 1 single review even tho a game comes to more than 1 platform is also nonsense and just happening because reviewers are kinda lazy and/or know that people are stupid annyways so they dont understand that Skyrim 360 =/= Skyrim PS3.

Well it's a difference in being more subjective and/or objective with a review. If you have people who are in need of games, then a lot of people will go out of their way to oversell it to make them feel better about their purchases; like a justification. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with liking a game, but sometimes when I see people really aggressive about a review, it stems from that mind set of justifying a purchase.

Just how I see it. Happens all all platforms too.

i used playstation games because that's what i play on, it's not like i said there's a media bias against sony

I agree on the Evolve vs dieing light thing. I'd say a lot of kinder eggs were sent out to many reviewers. Hopefully the reviews after the embargo go hard on it.

the last of us was fine on the ps3

Well firstly, its all a matter of opinions. Secondly, the userscore should always be taken with a grain of salt cause the userscores are very unreliable cause of various reasons such as not even being able to verify if the users even have the game and not to mention how many of them are trolls and stuff. Thirdly, just because people that you follow like the game doesn't really mean that everyone will do so as well, specially when it comes to critiquing a game and what do you mean by almost everyone on the internet loves Dying Light? Cause if you are referring to "Lets Players," they love almost everything as long as it isn't broken and I am pretty sure that ps4 hate thing is mostly nonsense

With that being said, I do agree that the reviews need to be improved and there are still quite a lot of dirty play going on behind the scenes
