We need poll OP. For  gaming i choose VR because the technology is appropriate now, for AR it will take another decade to have full seamless reality. But games like Minecraft or casual games it's fine.

Are we talking gaming or just life in general. Because VR is better for gaming but AR is better for everyday things.

For videogames, VR.

I just prefer being in another world than overlaying stuff onto my own. I don't see that working too well for games.

I have yet to try both and people should wait until they did, too.
I like both ideas but I also watched Avalon (a movie anyone should watch!) and this had me getting skeptical.
Ar instead is of course only augmenting the reality but it's a first step to a holo deck we saw in star trek and I loved holo deck episodes. But the tech is not there now and won't for many years to come, sadly.
To sum it up,I like both ideas from a technical point of view and I am eager to try both.
