Forums - Gaming - Battlefield Hardline to use 'same resolution settings' as BF4 on PS4/X1 (900p/720p) - Downgrade

I really need to see the video. Also, what of the Xbox One version. Are there pics? Oh and its the developers fault for insisting they will target 1080p and 60 FPS on both consoles when its still in development. We made a huge stink about Ubisoft, but folks forget that they promised 1080p 60fps as well.

Perhaps its the developers that are boosting our expectations beyond belief... and 720p on Xbox One? Really? At least 343i was smart enough not to make any promises about 1080p for Halo 5. That seems more appropriate.

Xbox One

PlayStation 4

One thing that really pops out to me is that even while the XB1 version is running at a lower resolution compared to the PS4 version, it's also way jaggier. Hopefully someone will do a framerate test for the XB1 and PS4 versions soon, because if this even drops 1 single frame then Viceral should be ashamed.

This shows that the game is unoptimized. If Gta can hit 1080P on both consoles I'm sure this game should have been able to hit 1080P 60fps.

Yeah I can't figure out what their problem is.  The PS4 is almost exactly as strong as a 7870 and that card runs BF4 maxed out at 30-40FPS.  All they need to do is bump the AA down to x2 and the settings to high-ultra and 60 FPS should be easy.

My guess is the PS4/X1's CPU isn't fast enough for the MP at 60 FPS.  Afterall it takes about an FX-8320 to get ~60 FPS on the big MP maps, and the PS4's cpu is about half as strong as that.  The game should be 40 FPS on console.  Plain and simple.

Wow that is actually immediately noticable.

Now imagine the powerlines from the pics I posted of the PS4 version earlier...

GTA isn't running at 60fps on consoles though.

If this shows anything it's that people are still overexpecting on what the consoles can achieve. Not every game will be able to hit 1080p60FPS without there being some sacrifices such as how Battlefield 4 ran at 900p/720p etc.

If you really want 1080p they could always just put the game at 30fps, but then people would just complain about that as well.

Its funny how lowering the graphics and fx isn't even an option

are we talking BETA #'s here or the actual game when it is released?

PSN & XBOX GT : cutzman25

More games should lock the framerate, and then use variable resolution. If the motion blur is good that looks the best solution for both consoles. In truth i was only half interested in this game anyway, and now it has switched me right off. There are too many better games coming out this quarter for me to play a game with throwbacks of last November.

GTA's a last gen game at its core, naturally its easier to hit 1080p with it.

Who's really surprised that EA is trying is skimping on optimisation.
