Could Sony use that money to build or buy a new studio like Ready at Dawn or Quantic Dream?

This news must have you really upset, becuase your response was pretty aggressive for me saying in the end we may say that sony made a great move. You are the one actually showing your true feelings trying to provoke me into a back and forth.

Actually there are such things as several leaders in a race. In particularly long distance races, such as cycling and marathon running. A breakway group of runners that are ahead of the main pack are the "lead group" There is no one leader, especially incycling because they al rotate the front position. In fact in cycling being the front rider in the leading group is bad, because you encounter the most wind resistance and hence get tired faster than the other riders.

So yes, in a "field" of 10 MMO providers you can have a group of 3 or 4 leading companies. They would have the biggest stable of games and have the most most popular MMOs on the market. Hence if Sony is one of those then they are a leader in MMOs.

Just because its PR does not make it BS or misleading or false bravado.

Except they were all PC games. So they never were first party.

First party = made by the platform maker. Sony don't make PCs or Windows, so not first party.


I'm confused. Why is he talking making games on the XBOX One then?

Insomniac isn't Xbone exclusive, they have a R&C game in the works right now.

And Evolve has a "PC Monster Race" special edition coming, an obvious play on the "PC master race" meme. Doesn't mean they aren't still in support of consoles.

I know, I said they were PC focused not PC exclusive. They were independent from teh Playstation divison and made a lot of PC exclusives, and a lot of their Playstation games were late PC ports. They were no Naughty Dog. Insamniac never made a non-Playstation game until Sunset Overdrive. Not counting that Facebook/IOS game. Insamniac is a much bigger part of Playstation's history than SOE.
