Forums - Gaming Discussion - Amazon US february monthly bestsellers and general Amazon based discussion

It would really put a spanner in the works of those who say there is a PS4 biased artefact in Amazon rankings if Xb one won Feb on Amazon because of this value bundle but PS4 won NPD. The one time outside launch month that Amazon is wrong is the month that XB one narrowly wins the month on Amazon.

Regarding bundles causing stadna lone games and peripherals to climb the ranks I think it probably only does this if the page for the bundle deal says this: "This bundle contains 2 items (may ship separately)"

On thing's for sure, this value bundle has made the final week of Feb suddenly iteresting in the hardware race.

It also means that unless VGC takes note of this deal and factors it into their numbers Xb one could end up being undertracked.

Exciting times are here again.

Doubt it.  Not unless every retailer offered the same deal, starting now.  All this is going to do is skew the Amazon results in XBO's favor.  Everywhere else, The Order should help give the PS4 a modest boost over the XBO.

That seems to be a move to discredit Amazon as master NPD preductor.

No, 0, Even if will outsell PS4, 3DS will dominate this NPD.

What I find strange is that Wolfenstein is < Xb one. That means quite a few people are deliberately choosing not to buy the value bundle. This makes no sense. Even if you hate Nazi-killing FPS games and you toss the game in the bin when it arrives still get a free controller. Must be basement dwelling, no friends, social misfits buying the standard unit as they have no use for a controller.

Wow, The Order is currently #13. Looks like I was wrong when I said that the game will fall out of the Top 20 later today.

even with the xbox. wolfestien, and xbox control rise due to the bundle its still at number 17. it seems to have some decent legs after launch. one has to wonder how it will perform after week one now, can we see it hit 400k in Feb NPD? i hope so.

Exactly how I feel.  Do I want ever game to be like The Order?  Or Heavy Rain?  Fuck no.  But, God will it be a miserable day in gaming when EVERY action game is open world with a ton of repetitive subquests that have nothing to do with the story.

Same goes for Driveclub.  That game took some harsh critism.  Some of it was deserved because of the online feature was buggy.  However, the critism thrown at it because they chose to make an arcade racer, and not an open world one, was not.  And I'm sure many who talked about that as a big drawback, since it was so "last gen" took off a few points, as well.

It's quite ridiculous, really.  They want games to be different, yet seem to also want them all to be open world.  Sorry, but somtimes I don't want to spend hours upon hours exploring a huge city, just to finish an objective.  Of course, not saying that sometimes I don't want to do that, just not always.

the thing is they arent dying out. TLoU and Uncharted are here to stay and are selling gangbusters. Beyond, while considered to be OK, sold 1 million in 2013 (sold, not shipped). heavy rain sold 3 million. and from what we see the order 1886 seems to be having decent sales. if it does its just another one in the records of cinematic games selling well. if the sales are there, the games will continue to be there as well.

i think some people just dont know it exists and dont pay attention to it when they buy. press on the xb1, go its page, press add to cart and buy it. they probably dont pay attention to the "value bundle" button.

Couldn't have said it better. It's the same reasons we still get annual franchises and remasters.

pretty much. and as much as people hate these two, they are there because people want them.
