Mass Effect as long as I was on a planet that didn't get reaped before Shepard did her thing and as long as doing her thing, wasn't to decide that current galactic civilisation should go to hell and let the reaping continue. I really would love to live in a time when interplanetary travel was a regular thing, and there were many civilisations all interacting.

If I couldn't place conditions on the state of the world then Dragon Age, as a minor noble well enough off to live a comfortable life, but too small of a fish for the powers that be to really be bothered with me. I would employ a mage as part of my household, because you gotta have your own walking WMD in that world, unless you are one. But I wouldn't want to be a mage myself.
