Forums - Sales - Is It Safe To say That X1 is Winning America?

Its not safe to say AT ALL, those hopng for xb1 to win, dont...

ps4 has been # UNO for most of the time on these stores online charts
Amazon
Gamestop
Bestbuy
Walmart
Toysrus

Know insders on Neogaf said the following.

The Shogun: Gamestop : "Also PS4 > Xbone"
Abdiel: Best Buy : "As soon as the price drop ended for the XB1, it was like someone pulled the emergency brake, people were coming in with the impression the price was still lower, and were leaving annoyed, rather than pay the difference, and the momentum tanked really, really fast. Once the price dropped again, well, it certainly picked up more speed again, but it isn't really selling on the same level as it was prior. That gap in time really didn't help them. I'm not saying that people went out and bought a PS4 instead, but some people just elected to simply not buy at all. We'll see if those customers return sooner or later.

PS4 seems to have smoothly transitioned, and the Last of Us bonus aspect to the bundle doesn't really seem to have made the system sell all that much 'faster'... it is nice though, that customers know they're getting something in the box even as part of the standard purchase, seems to sway some potential haggler types. PS4 won January handily for all the stores/districts I checked. Not really sure on exactly how big of a gap handily will turn out to be on the final numbers, but it was not a close game for us, at least."

No imagine when they cut the price...

Worth pointing out that VGC now has PS4 ahead in both weeks of January.

It is not safe to say, but it is probable. Other than the short jump to $399 that wasn't even implemented by some retailers, XOne has a lot of momentum from the holidays, as it gave Americans a chance to recommend the console to their friends. Also, in the past few weeks I see it advertised so much tied to Superbowl and the NFL.

January NPD will be a close battle, but it is possible that XOne will win, alrhough by a smaller margin than previous months.

All good points in favor of the XB1, however, there was no major release on either console and the sales numbers are much lower than December, it will be close, but I still think the PS4 will outsell the XB1 this January, as it should for pretty much every months until late in the year.

The holidayperiod is too far ahead to predict, Halo 5 may or may not pull things in the XB1's direction... the XB1 does not have anything like the feature/policy/price come back they had to do last year to make the console tolerable, the PS4 has an AMAZING software lineup spread around the whole year, this is not denigrating what MS has to offer, but if 1 or 2 exclusives meant everything last year, what are we going to call this year when the PS4 has a couple more major games that cover more type of gamers tastes as well... ?

overall 2015 may end up being either like 2014 or more in favor of the PS4 than 2014 was... then again, we don't know exactly what either companies have in their sleeves...

Nah, the US is too close to claim a winner either way. What makes you think its obvious that the X1 has won? I'm just curious cause the PS4 has more sales in the US has won most of the NPD, and is ahead of the X1 on amazon. I just don't see what you see that makes it clear the X1 has won...PS4 has already won total sales and Europe, I think it will win Japan, the US will be a close battle the entire gen.

No, not at all. If anything it is losing. Next question.

Also even if the X1 manages to outsell the PS4 in the US its still not a complete victory. Sony took back a large part of the market in the US. Unless the X1 manages to blow out the PS4 and take a large part of the market back it'd be a half victory at best. Just my opinion though.

latest #'s show PS4 ahead in the week of Jan17

PSN & XBOX GT : cutzman25

The battle won't be won easily by either side

and the week previous. 100% PS4 wins for 2015 so far. NPD will be telling if that's right or wrong.

17th january says the ps4 sold more now and it reached these numbers without the last of us & ps+ bundle they now announced over there
