Look at the same controlled studies though that show violent movies increase violence... yet violent movies decrease violence in real life.

Movies have not been proven to cause a decrease. That an even hotter debate then this one.

There are a thousand other varaible you can apply to first world nation as to why the crime rate go down.

The main problem with lab studies though is that in controlled settings you can't let these people rape.

Hell, if you think it's going to make them more likely to rape other peole you aren't even supposed to be doing the study in the first place. It's unethical.

Such a strong correlation would suggest that it's either related... or the two aren't related at all. It surely doesn't suggest that the opposite is true. It's not impossible, but it sure is unlikely.
