Forums - General - What do you think of David Beckham

I think he is one of the best place kickers ever. I don't want to comment on his life outside of football though.

^ Roger Federer is not human, neither is Pele or Micheal Jordan.

They are machines programmed to dominate in sports.

While all those people are great players, Jim Thorpe is the greatest athlete the world has ever known.

Just thought I would share for all you young people in the world :)

Who is david beckham?  I'll go with 5.  If he plays sports, there is a good chance that is the right answer.

You do know Beckham came to the States to try and revive soccer and his wife has been trying to get her movie stardom upstarted but has failed misribly

He was suppose to play his first official match here in Toronto, but the guy gets himself injured in an exhibition game prior to his start... not sure if anyone here watches MLS, but TFC fans are nuts..

This is what they do for fun...

But what could you expect.. TFC hadn't scored in its five first games

So the fans started chanting.. thinking that might help!

And then this is what happens when you give your fans "Thank You Seat Cushions"  and they finally score

I think its impossible to call him a crappy player for all the silverware he has won at club level. And I don't really think he's that over rated because you really don't see anybody saying that he is a great player (ie pele, maradona). Just a great crosser of the ball and a specialist at dead ball opportunities. Which I don't think anybody would deny.

He has marketed himself well so I don't think that makes him an idiot.

The only thing he hasn't won is anything at the international level...but I think that is more England's fault than his. If it wasn't for him and his right boot I really do not think England would have gone as far as they have gone.

5 - he only cares about his life outside football I believe. I also hate posh spice.

I think the guy can still play, he's talented you can't deny him that. But I believe we should find another RM to replace him on the England squad.
We also need more Aston Villa players on the England squad because we have so many talented English players where the other top 6 clubs have few.

I think that the greatest sportsman ever is Sir Donald(the Don) Bradman.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_Bradman

He is so far in front of any modern or past player. His batting average of 99.94 runs per wicket is roughly 40 runs ahead of any other player past or present.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cricket_batting_averages

List me one player of any sport who is 66% better than the next person in their chosen field. I don't think you will find many.

Never heard of him
