What do you guys think, will the game flop or will the game help out the PS3? And sell atleast 100,000 copies first week in japan?

It will get decent sales since Yakuza or Ryu ga Gotoku as the series is called in Japan
is quite popular there and also it scored very well in Famitsu(though Lost Odyssey got disappointing sales in Japan despite getting an overall score of 36/40 in the same magazine)

I want it! Can't wait for it to hit the US.

But back to topic. I think it will sell 100,000 copies its first week---or darn close.

At least 75,000.

I think and hope it will do great, did Yakuza 2 ever come out in the US? Never saw it on shelves, but #1 is the shit.



Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Yakuza 1/2 did very well in Japan (near MGS levels), and because Yakuza: Kenzan! is set in feudal Japan, it should do even better. (Well, it should be better received. It may not sell as well because of the smaller install base)

I know the whole samurai aspect makes me want the game, and I had zero interest in the first two.

It is yeah. I'm not sure about this. After Virtua Fighter 5 flopping, I don't trust the Japanese sales on PS3 games. My money says about 95,000 week one and half that week 2.

DMC4 sold 200k first week in Japan.  The Yakuza series generally sell stwice as much as DMC in Japan.
