Forums - Nintendo - Kirby and the rainbow curse confirmed to be $39.99

I don't get why people say the game is overpriced at $40. That's the cost of most 3ds game when they are released, including the latest Kirby game. If this and Captain Toad were 3ds games, I'd imagine there would be fewer debates about the pricing. It's baffling that somehow being on a console makes it worth LESS in the eyes of consumers.

You do realise what indie means right? It has nothing to do with game content. They would all come under the category of a budget release and some of those are probably longer then captain toad.

You do realize this is made by a team much bigger than any indie team right? Now you're talking about Captain Toad? Ok, I'm done, I can see what you're trying to do here.

When I talk about the content a game has I wait until the game is actually out instead of making silly statements.

''if its a meaty platformer then its price is justified but just based on what they've shown it I wouldn't buy it at that price.''

This is not a  silly statement. Its an opinion, i never stated what content the game had, I simplied said what it looked like. Properly comprehend comments before making silly responses plz

Doesn't really interest me tbh. They should bundle it with a Kirby Amiibo! That might help.

ToysRUs is doing just that actually!

People rarely complains when a dissapointing, incomplete, overhyped and sometimes buggy triple A with a graphic engine reused for the umpteenth time and that doesn´t even reach 75 - 80 on metacritic is sold by 60 - 70$.

But hey, if the game is 2D and made by Nintendo, doesn´t matter if the graphics are awesome, if the music is awesome, if the level design is awesome, if the game is very fun, if is polished as hell or if has +80 on metacritic, is always overpriced...

I love it, Canvas Curse was one of the best games on DS an one of the best Kirby EVER, so a sequel with this awesome claymation graphics at 60fps and co-op multiplayer for 40$ is ***** great.

You're kidding right? It's less than 2/3 of the price of a normal retail game.

Yeah, and it should be 1/4 to 1/6 of the price. I wouldn't pay more than $15 for that. $10 is the sweat spot. $40 is laughable, even more than it was with Captain Toad.

Kirby is obviously 30 fps, they did it on purpose for clay animations.

I'm saying indie isn't a question of a games scale or content, so its nothing to scoff at. No Man's Sky is an Indie game but looks anything but, indie doesn't limit a game in terms of scale, ambition or even team size.
