I bought the 2DS in black friday of 2013 for $99 ($80 in 2014) at walmart so paying $99 in 2015 for a non-portable version seems like a ripoff. At least the playstation TV was cheaper than the vita and had a bunch of other uses.

Nope. 240p resolution would look pretty terrible on a big screen.

No but a successor with enough horsepower to run the games in a higher resolution would. Vita TV actually works a lot better than I expected, so a full 720p native would work a treat.

3DS's super low resolution would be a gross mess on a 1080p display... At least the Vita up-reses very nicely.

Maybe for the 4DS, yes. But a 3DS TV would not entice me.

Doubt it would be very successful. PS TV flopped hard (granted, on a 20% of 3DS's install base, but most of that is kids with limited TV access). I still think that people buy handhelds to play handheld games while on the move.

If there was no Wii U in the first place this wouldn't really be a hard choice since it would be the only Nintendo home console.

No, but if it played bootlegs so my fellow 3rd World Country Civilians can enjoy the things we do. Then, heck yeah!
