Wii U's problems go beyond the Gamepad
I think some of possible wii u buyers didnt buy cos they think gamepad is not a controller, is an undefined mix of tablet, and also seems unconfortable.
If they make gamepad look like a controller with a screen, it should help. mainly if the battery last longer, it weights less and cost less.
they should shrink the screen, get rid of empties spaces on gamepad, and shape it more like a controller. bring it along with a 50$ price drop, win win.

I don't think anyone is THAT stupid. At least not in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, South America, Central America, Mexico, America Jr. or Antarctica. Can't speak for the rest...
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
It would definitely help, but it would be marginal. It would be smarter to just release the new console with it instead. Wii U is a lost cause.
Personally, I think the game pad is fine as is for me but have no problem with a redesign. As long as the screen doesn't get too much smaller because I love it's size.
Nope. Would be aprreciated though.
Current Consoles: PS3, PS4, Wii U

PC Specs: i7-4770, GTX 560 Ti, 12GB 1600Mhz DDR3
A Gamepad remodel probably wouldn't help sales unless a price cut accompanied it. TBH I would hate a slimmer version of the gamepad. I have average sized hands and I personally think, for the most part, the gamepad is super comfortable as is. Its MUCH lighter than I thought it would be. My biggest gripe currently, is the placement of the BAYX buttons. When I picked up MK8, my hands started to hurt while holding down the A button. It made me have to hold my thumb in a weird position to constantly hold down that button, while just tapping it was no issue. This issue was easily solved by holding down the Y button instead, but still... a more compact design would hurt my hands, personally. Not to mention if the screen size or quality goes down, that would really suck.

Imo, what they really should have done is give the new 3DS the stream processor used in the gamepad, and allowed people to use their 3ds as the gamepad, thus allowing them to sell more of the new 3DS and allow them to sell a tablet-free wiiu to people that already have the new 3ds, or the few that would want it to play with a gamepad only.
Nope. My problem with the Wii U isn't the console itself, it's just the software. I'm not really a fan of Nintendo games anymore and since they get no third party support all the Wii U is useful for is Nintendo games. I don't see myself ever buying one.
