So, amazing sales for a new IP with no advertisement and limited supply (that quickly sold out) = hate?

limited supply in a single exploitative retailer (gamestop) most people who buy games know to avoid like the plague... let's be completely clear about xenoblade's shitty distribution model in north america. even with that north america almost outsold every other region combined.
This is actually hard due to the release schedule :P
I think a number of these will reach 1mil, but the question is really how fast? I think Zelda will sprint to 1mil really quick so it's a question of how much of a head start these others can get and/or just outright get there before the Zelda launch. Mario Maker, Splatoon, and Xenoblade I think will all head for 1mil pretty fast, but we don't know when MM and Xenoblade are launching so it's tough to say which of those 3 has the best chance.
edit: and oh yeah, Hyrule Warriors. It's still plugging along...this is tough.
in terms of games that are out i would say Hyrule Warriors should reach it by the end of March or some time in April but in terms of games that aint out yet depending on the general consensuses of the game i think Splatoon has a good shot by the holiday's
EDIT even if Mario Maker comes out after Splatoon i think it will reach a million copies much faster then Splatoon.
I hope to god Mario Party 10 flops, so if I had to make a choice, I'll say Splatoon depending on the situation.
I'm now filled with determination.
| vivster said: Well let me give you thr rundown. Kirby and The Rainbow Curse never had a chance. |
Mario Party sells to the same people who buy Mario Kart and Smash. They're the same casuals.
My money is on Mario Party 10 or Mario Maker if it's cheap enough.
From the games already out i say Hyrule Warriors, and from the games releasing this year my bet is Mario Party.
After Donkey Kong I'd say Hyrule Warriors like most others. Then, I think every game in the poll will reach a million, or at least has a good chance.
Mario Party 10, Mario Maker, Zelda U and Kirby are definitely going to make it. Zelda will do this in the first week, or the second at the latest, but won't release until end of november. Basically the question is, which game will reach a million sold before Zelda releases. Mario Party 10 and Mario Maker are released much earlier, and have enough time to get to a million. Kirby will take a bit longer I'd say, as will Yoshi and Xenoblade. The latter isn't going to be out soon enough. Splatoon is a wildcard though, may be a hit, may flop big time. Personally I think we should be happy if it hits a million at all, it's probably the game with the smallest chance out of those in OP. Then there's also Pikmin 3 and Lego City, but they've probably slowed down too much by now. Retail anyway, as VGC claims, who knows where they are with digital included.
It's between Mario Party 10 and Mario Maker for sure, my money's on Mario Maker.
| JoeAncelotti said: I guess Zelda, really have no clue. I don't want to be an asshole, but I'm not sure if there will ever be a 10 million seller on WiiU to be honest.
Edit: Oh the tenth million seller xD. Sorry had a busy day. Well Splatoon is coming out soon and I see a lot of hype for that on the fora. |
Really?
3th Jan 2015:
-Pikmin 3 at 0.89
-Lego city undercover at 0.89
-Hyrule Warriors at 0.84
-Captain Toad 0.43 (really 0.47) reseleased last month on NA, and this on EU
So WiiU doesn´t even need to have new games to reach 10 million sellers, is probably going to have 13 anyway, and:
-Yoshi is already on the top 30 pre-order charts US without date release and NEVER sells less than a million (same for Kirby)
-Splatoon is a Nintendo franchise with a lot of hype behind, you can be sure is going to reach the million soon or later
-Xenoblade is getting hype because the trailers, it sold 0.8m on wii when the console was dead and being a gamestop exclusive, X will sell way much better
-Mario Maker has the chance to be a big boom, and even if is not, is Mario, million for sure
-Zelda... well, no need an explanation, is nearly impossible for the game to sell less than 3 millions...
And of course Mario Party 10 has the chance (no one has sell less than a million, and seeing games like Just Dance or Skylander selling fine, yeah, there´s still a casual market on Wii U)
And if wee look at the future i can´t see a game like Animal Crossing U selling less than a million, or a possible new Metroid sub million, so... you really need to have very poor faith on Wii U games to say that. Is possible to have even 20 million sellers by 2016, probably not happening, but possible.
