Forums - General - Are 24 hours in the day not enough? We're getting more time!

You know, I love listening to people like Micho Kaku, and how he sees the futured, among other things.  And, other people too.  Also like Vsauce 1 for some pretty cool information.  However, I'm not here to talk about those today.  Here's a new pair of geniuses I'd like to show those that are interested in these sorts of things.

In the video, they discuss the moon, and it's constant drift away from the planet, where they mention how days of the past were shorter than 24 hours, and days of the distant future will have 25+ hours.  I thought it was pretty interesting and wanted to share for discussion.

eh? The moon being further away from the planet wouldn't change how long days are. Days are how long they are because of how fast the planet rotates, only the planet slowing down could change how long a day is.

the moon has a braking effect on the earths rotation.. its has been slowing us down for billion of years.. took us 4.5 billion years to get from 5 to 24 hours..
