Hum i was talking about the bridge, not Splatoon. The point is that it might look like a blight to a lot of people. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and all that jazz. Still using the same bridge example, someone who's more fond of the chaotic nature would actually appreciate an infrastructure that does not gel with the surroundings, while others would feel the exact opposite. I've seen cases of games or sections of games where people claimed to feel "sick" or physically unable to progress yet it was almost like a case of gaming bliss or genious for others. We're all different and respond differently. For me, I can appreciate almost any BROAD art style but when it comes down to specific types I am very iffy and a lot of things can really put me off. Whether it's cutesy, cartoony, realistic, whatever... All elements are accounted for, not just the main category. Cartoony can look really appealing to me, even jolly, or it can look like something i'd rather use as a sheet of toilet paper. Photorealistic can look, again to me, stylish and sexy or it can look boring.
I think of it as if we, as people, are all different lockpicks. The way our pins get properly touched for the lock to open varies... Or something like that.
