After having a volleball game with a Moogle and a game of street basketball with Lebron James and Shaquille O'neal, its safe to say that Mario has a game in pretty much any popular sport, that is except american football.

Why is that, with Nintendo's biggest market being the US why was there never a game of the sport more popular there? Sure, Europe and Japan wouldn't care about it, but its NA numbers should be a good enough reason to make the game.

The closest its ever gotten was in some minigames in Mario Party, here:

I'd buy a Mario football game in a heartbeat!

It would mostly sell in the US and canada with little sales abroad. Soccer would be a more international approach to sports.

I've wondered this myself. It seems like an easy way to make some profit. Maybe it'll happen someday.

Is not like what Mario & Luigi do in the 2D/3D platformers is what the average italian man does.
