Was it Vanquish, Shadows of the Damned, The Evil Within, or Resident Evil 4? For me, it was Vanquish. The sliding mechanics makes it the best for me.

Resident Evil 4 by lightyears.

Still the best video game I have ever played.

Vanquish all the way. In my opinion, there is no other shooter out there as mechanically perfect as that game was. If a sequel ever comes to fruition, I will buy whatever platform I have to just to play it.
