If i am not mistaken Amiibo first wave was released Nov 21. That means 2.5 million on a month and some days. Of course, it was during holydays.

Still, it sounds like a lot imo. Amiibo looks like a lot of money for Nintendo. What do you think?

That's just US sales, right? Regardless, it's great news for Nintendo and should give them a large sum of $$$ as they thrive on the Wii U and New 3DS

I'm not sure :/ they cost jack to make and Ninty is selling them at a pretty high price, at least in my country. Id imagine they're making some good profit off them.
